Studies on chemical substances in liquids for and vapours of e-cigarettes

Two new studies of the Consumer Council are concerned with chemical substances in liquids for and vapours of e-cigarettes. The goal of the studies was to draw up an inventory of the substances identified in scientific literature as well as of the relevant regulatory and voluntary rules. for a selection of these potential pollutants provisional limits were suggested which partly need a more detailed review and fine-tuning. The results are envisaged to be used as an input in the development of European standards (CEN TC 437) for e-cigarettes. The Consumer Council intends to commission further work in this area.
